Behavior is an action or reaction to the environment or to internal thoughts and emotions. Behavioral symptoms are persistent or repetitive behaviors that are unusual, disruptive, inappropriate, or cause problems. Aggression, criminal behavior, defiance, drug use, hostility, inappropriate sexual behavior, inattention, secrecy, and self-harm are examples of behavioral symptoms.
Behavioral Modification is a method used to replace negative behavior patterns with desired behaviors or promote behavior change. Life is packed with situations or environments you can’t control. There are a million different factors affecting who you are and how you behave. Instead of focusing on negative thinking patterns or ideas, behavior modification focuses on sequences of behavior to help alter actions that lead to specific outcomes.

We offer many different types of group therapy: Psychoeducational, skills development, cognitive-behavioral, and interpersonal process groups. Group therapy focuses on a specific mental health concern, and will bring people who share those concerns and experiences together.
Union Mission Behavioral Health Center offers dual sessions for the morning and the evening hours.
There will be shifts for Union Mission employees that include morning, afternoon, and some evenings for those that work.
We offer telehealth and face-to-face sessions to best fit the client’s needs.
We operate 5 days a week, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with telehealth services offered on an individual basis, including group on Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and individuals from 5:30 to 6:30 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The ultimate goal of UMBHC is to effectively serve, educate, and treat individuals through and beyond the initial stages of recovery until they become long-term, committed members of society.
